This fall, the American Angus Association and Angus Foundation will host a Cattlemen's Boot Camp at Penn State University, in State College. The two-day educational program open to all cattle producers. It cover all aspects of the beef industry from basic production practices to the end product.
Pre-registration is required, and the deadline is Oct. 1. A minimal fee of $75 is charged to offset meals and materials.
"The boot camps offer an intense overview of beef production in a short amount of time," says Jim Shirley, Angus Association vice president of industry relations. Complete schedules and program topics are available online at www.angus.org.
The Penn State boot camp is Oct. 29-30 at the Beef/Sheep Unit on the Penn State campus. The activities begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, the 29th.
