The average price of gasoline is constantly being reported on the news, but the price of E85 has never been tracked. That is changing as the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, starts a new program to find the average price of E85.
Called the E85 Tracker, the EPIC program will randomly survey 120 stations from each region of the U.S. every two weeks to determine a national average for E85. The first survey result was a price of $2.36.
The program will give an overview comparison of the price of E85 to that of gasoline and in time provide pricing trends between them.
